Smart Locks That Support Remote Unlock

Your user links their lock or access system account through Seam Connect Webview. Seam returns the doors behind it as devices and entrances. Confirm can_remotely_unlock is true on what comes back. False means the lock is capable but cannot use it right now, and a missing property means it never does this.

One POST to /locks/unlock_door with the device_id. The response is an action attempt: pending means the command is travelling, success means the lock's system accepted it, error carries the reason it did not. The call is the same for a battery deadbolt and a wired controller.

Success on the action attempt means the command reached the lock's system. To see the bolt's state, read properties.locked off the device, or subscribe to the lock.unlocked event, which also fires when someone turns the thumb latch by hand. Battery locks behind a bridge add a few seconds of latency.
