Troubleshooting: Devices Not Showing Up After Connecting Your Account
Last updated
You connected your device account to Seam through a Connect Webview, but some or all of your devices don't appear in Seam, or the Connect Webview says "No devices found."
Work through the steps below. They are ordered from most to least common cause.
1. Check that your device model is supported
Seam supports specific models from each manufacturer. Devices Seam doesn't support, such as some newer lock models, cameras, hubs, or sensors, are not imported, even when they're in the same account.
Find your manufacturer on the Supported Devices and Systems page and confirm your model is listed.
2. Connect the account that owns the devices
Many manufacturers only share devices you own with connected apps. Devices someone shared with you as a guest or secondary user often don't appear, even though you can see them in the manufacturer's app. Sign in with the account that owns the devices, or ask the owner to connect instead.
If you have more than one account with the manufacturer, make sure you signed in with the one the devices are in.
3. Make sure the device is set up and online
Open the manufacturer's app and confirm the device has finished setup and is online. For devices that connect through a hub, gateway, or bridge, confirm the hub is also set up and online. Once a device is ready in the manufacturer's app, it appears in Seam automatically. You don't need to reconnect.
4. Wait a few minutes after connecting
Seam imports your devices shortly after you connect. If you just connected, wait a few minutes and refresh.
5. Still having issues?
Contact Seam support at support@seam.co and include the Connect Webview ID or connected account ID, along with the make and model of the devices you expected to see, so we can investigate.
