About Nest
Founded in 2010 by former Apple engineers, Nest first launched its initial Nest thermostat in 2011. It quickly became one of the hottest consumer electronic item and the first generation device was quickly followed by subsequent iterations. Nest later on released its first smoke and carbon monoxide detector. In 2014, Nest was acquired by Google for $3.2B, which at the time the second largest acquisition by Google. In subsequent years, Nest released numerous other products such as the Nest cam and security systems. Eventually, Google folded Nest into its broader Google Home efforts to consolidate resources and unify the product line.

—“Discovering Seam was one of these Aha moments in the business. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I mean, it was exactly what we were looking for: a simple API that we could integrate and have access to all these devices in a matter of seconds.”
