Announcing Our New Ultraloq Integration for Smart Lock Access

This week, we’re expanding Seam’s smart lock ecosystem with a new integration for Ultraloq, bringing reliable code-based access and unlock control to short-term rental and small commercial use cases.

Ultraloq is a popular, straightforward smart lock used across vacation rentals, small offices, and light commercial properties. With this integration, developers and operators can manage Ultraloq locks through Seam’s unified APIs—issuing access codes, controlling unlocks, and automating access alongside the rest of their access stack.

Access Use Cases in STR and Small Commercial Environments

With Seam connected to Ultraloq, you can power common automation scenarios without building lock-specific logic:

Guest and visitor access: Issue time-bounded access codes for short-term stays or scheduled visits.
Staff access: Grant and revoke codes for cleaners, maintenance, or vendors.
Remote unlocks: Programmatically unlock doors when needed, all through Seam.

Ultraloq behaves like a classic smart lock within Seam—focused on dependable keypad codes and unlock actions—making it easy to slot into existing STR and small commercial products.

How It Works

Seam’s Ultraloq integration supports the core access primitives used in day-to-day operations:

Create, update, and revoke access codes programmatically
Perform remote unlocks through the Seam API
Manage devices and access using Seam’s standard access patterns
Monitor activity through normalized events and webhooks

All access is issued through Seam, so Ultraloq locks can be managed alongside other supported lock brands using the same API surface.

Important Setup Requirement: Device Time Zones

Each Ultraloq device must have its time zone configured before you can issue access codes. Access codes are time-bounded, and Ultraloq requires the device’s local time zone to apply schedules correctly. Once set, you can create and manage access codes on the lock through Seam.
