Announcing Our New Dormakaba Ambiance Integration for Hospitality Access

This week we’re expanding Seam’s hospitality portfolio with a new integration for Dormakaba Ambiance, a widely deployed access control system for hotels and serviced accommodations across Europe and the U.S.

With this integration, hospitality operators can connect their guest-facing applications and PMS systems to Ambiance, enabling fully automated check-in workflows — from card encoding to digital keys — all powered through Seam’s unified Access Grants API.

By adding Ambiance to Seam’s collection of hospitality systems (including Vingcard, Dormakaba, Salto Space, Salto KS, and Hotek), hotel brands can standardize their access experiences across multiple properties, regions, and hardware generations.

Bring Modern Check-In Automation to Dormakaba Ambiance

With Seam connected to Ambiance, operators can now streamline access management throughout the guest journey:

Plastic keycard encoding: Automatically encode guest cards at check-in — ideal for self-check-in kiosks or PMS-triggered workflows.
Apple Wallet keys (beta): Offer guests frictionless, app-free mobile access by delivering room keys directly to Apple Wallet.
BLE mobile keys (coming soon): Prepare for mobile-centric access without requiring hardware upgrades.

All access is managed through the Seam Access Grants API, ensuring that Ambiance properties can use the same automation patterns as other hospitality systems supported by Seam.

How It Works

Seam’s Ambiance integration supports a complete set of automation capabilities used in modern hotel operations:

Encode cards programmatically through supported Ambiance encoders.
Create, update, and revoke access grants mapped to rooms, floors, and common areas.
Issue digital keys directly from your guest application, with Wallet in beta and BLE coming soon.
Sync reservation and guest identity data to generate time-bounded access.
Audit device and key activity through standardized Seam events and webhooks.
